Genetic inference of the mating system of free-ranging domestic dogs

چکیده

Abstract Domestication has greatly changed the social and reproductive behavior of dogs relative to that wild members genus Canis, which typically exhibit monogamy extended parental care. Unlike a typical gray wolf pack consists single breeding pair their offspring from multiple seasons, group free-ranging (FRDs) can include individuals both sexes. To understand consequences this shift in behavior, we reconstructed genetic pedigree an FRD population assessed kinship patterns groups, based on genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphism genotypes. Consistent with behavioral observations, mating system study was characterized by polygynandry. Instead discreet family units observed wolves, FRDs were linked network relationships spread across packs. However, also reproduction same male–female pairs retention adult natal packs, dispersal between neighboring packs—patterns common wolves. Although is predominant polygyny polyandry are occasionally response increased food availability. Thus, polygynandry domestic likely influenced ecological niche apex predator human commensal.

determination of maximal singularity free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulator

due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...

Dietary Niche Separation between Sympatric Free-ranging Domestic Dogs and Indian Foxes in Central India

The competitive dynamics between domestic and native carnivores are poorly studied. We examined competition for food between sympatric populations of free-ranging dogs (Canis familiaris) and Indian foxes (Vulpes bengalensis) through dietary analysis in a protected, dry grassland habitat in central India. We expected significant dietary overlap between dogs and foxes because of clear evidence of...
